Nancy's Toffee

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 lg. Hershey chocolate bar grated
  • (optional 1 tbsp. corn syrup and 1 tsp. vanilla)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Make 2 9x14 pans out of aluminum foil.
  2. Cook in heavy frying pan: butter and sugar, stir constantly until golden brown = 10 minutes. Work quickly.
  3. Pour into one pan. Sprinkle 1/2 of the choc. on top and spread with knife. Sprinkle 1/2 of the nuts.
  4. Lay second piece of foil over top and flip over. Repeat chocolate and nuts.
  5. Takes 1 hour to set up. Pound with knife handle to break up.
