RECIPE BACKSTORY
This recipe feels, smells and tastes like home. It is the core of most of my family's meals in Italy and has been passed down from generation to generation. I remember being five years old, standing on a stool and my nonna (grandma) teaching me to stir her tomato sauce with a wooden spoon. It's really simple, easy and extremely comforting. I'm currently working from home as per the UK government's instructions so having a yummy tomato sauce that is versatile and reminds me of those I love is comforting as well as helpful as a base for creative dishes. It's not resource intensive and makes the house smell divine.
