Oat-rageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

  • 1 cup margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup quick or regular oats (or omit and use 2/3 cup more flour)
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Blend well the butter, sugars, peanut butter, vanilla, and eggs.
  3. Add the flour, oats, baking soda and salt.
  4. Drop by tablespoonful on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
RECIPE BACKSTORY
This was given to me by my mother's 90+ year old neighbor. She's a wonderful baker and she brings them treats all the time.
