Octopus on Seaweed
CATEGORIES
INGREDIENTS
- Number of hotdogs as needed
- Any type of pasta, in the photo we used Barilla Campanelle pasta (shaped like trumpets)
- Green food coloring
DIRECTIONS
- Cut your hotdogs lengthwise, almost to the top but leaving at least one inch unsliced. Rotate the hotdog and make more cuts. The object is to get long "tenacles". Boil the hotdogs while cooking the pasta. As the hotdogs boil, they curl up giving the look of octupus. Add green food coloring to the boiling pasta, strain when cooked. Serve the octopus on his bed of seaweed, as shown in the photo.
- My grandchildren love this 'weird' dinner just as much as their parents did.
