Old Holland Meatballs

INGREDIENTS
- 2 or 3 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 cup rice
- 1 egg
- 1 jar sauerkraut
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 can tomato juice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp garlic salt
DIRECTIONS
- Mix all ingredients well, form into balls, about twice the size as golf balls.
- Drain sauerkraut. Place layer of kraut on bottom of large pan. Place layer of
- meatballs on top. Layer again the same way. Pour full can of tomato juice on
- top. Don't stir. Bring to a boil &reduce heat. Simmer for 1 1/2-2 hours. Stir
- after 1/2 of cooking time, gently. Serve over mashed potatoes
