Oven Baked Macaroni & Cheese

  • 2 C. elbow macaroni (you can even use whole wheat pasta or 1 part whole wheat, one part regular pasta in this recipe)
  • 1/4 C. butter
  • 1/4 C. flour
  • 1/4 twp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 C. milk
  • 2 C. shredded/cubed cheddar cheese
  • Parmesan cheese
  • breadcrumbs
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cook & drain macaroni.
  2. Melt butter in pan.
  3. Stir in flour, mustard, Worcestershire, salt, & pepper.
  4. Cook over low heat until smooth and bubbly.
  5. Stir in milk & heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  6. Boil & stir one minute. Stir in cheese & cook until melted.
  7. Gently stir in macaroni.
  8. Pour into casserole dish & top w/ Parmesan and breadcrumbs.
  9. Bake @ 350 for 20 - 25 minutes.
