PEACH OATMEAL CRISP

  • 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 c. oatmeal
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. applesauce
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • large can peaches in heavy syrup
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven 375 degrees.
  2. Grease square 8" pan. Use a slotted spoon to scoop peaches into bottom of dish so they are wet, but not swimming in the syrup.
  3. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt together in bowl. Cut butter and applesauce in dry ingredients until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle topping over peaches and bake about 30 minutes. Serve warm, plain or with whipped cream. Cooking time: About 30 minutes. Yield: 6 to 8 servings.
