PEANUT BUTTER FILLED BROWNIES

INGREDIENTS
  • 1-1/3 c. milk chocolate chips, divided
  • 1½ oz. unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • ½ c. butter, cut in cubes
  • ¾ c. sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • ½ c. flour
  • dash of salt
  • PEANUT BUTTER FILLING:
  • ½ c. peanut butter
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • 1 T. flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped peanuts (I prefer cashews)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9" square pan.
  2. Combine 1 c. chips, unsweetened chocolate and butter in microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high 1 to 1½ minutes; stir until smooth. Whisk in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat in flour and salt.
  3. Beat all ingredients until smooth.
  4. Spread half of the chocolate batter in pan. Drop filling over batter; spread evenly. Spread on remaining chocolate batter. Bake for 30 mninutes or until toothpick comes out clean in center.
  5. Sprinkle top with remaining chips Let stand 3 minutes to soften chips; spread over top. Garnish with 1/2 c. chopped peanuts (or cashews) Cool and refrigerate. Makes 12 brownies.
