Paige's Chocolate Nut Clusters
  • 1 cupful (5 ounce package) Hershey's Milk Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoonful shortening
  • cashews, peanuts, pecan halves, English walnut halves or miniature marshmallows
  1. Pick over nutmeats.
  2. Heat the chocolate pieces with shortening on top of the double boiler over hot, not boiling water.
  3. Throw in a half a cupful of nuts (one kind at a time) and stir around in the melted chocolate. Take out nuts with a fork, and place in little piles on waxed paper covered cookie sheet. Refrigerate until set.
My daughter's recipe handprinted on a half sheet of spiral bound notebook paper. The paper is tattered and stained from use. Need I say more? I'm guessing she was in the 4th or 5th grade. She is 22 now and an awesome cook. Enjoy
