Penne Pasta with Vodka Sauce
  • penne pasta or ziti or whatever pasta you want
  • Chopped onions
  • olive oil
  • Italian sausage
  • Tsp of each basil, oregano, parsley, thyme or couple of tsp of italian seasoning
  • red pepper flakes,or use a combination of mild and hot italian sausage
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Can of crushed tomatoes
  • tomato sauce
  • Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 can of water
  • handful of chopped fresh basil, or a tbsp of dry
  • vodka
  • cream or half & half
  • Parmesan cheese
  1. While pasta is cooking...
  2. Saute onions in olive oil in a deep frying pan, then add sausage a bit of Italian seasoning, chopped garlic, salt & pepper, and brown.
  3. Then add a can of crushed tomatos, some tomato sauce and if you have a tbsp of tomato paste.
  4. Add a half can of water to make it saucy and simmer for a bit till everything combines.
  5. Add basil, mix in and add vodka, start with a quarter to half cup and mix in.
  6. Allow to simmer for a few minutes to cook off the alcohol and before serving over pasta add some cream or half & half and stir in.
  7. Sprinkle whole dish with Parmesan cheese and chow down!!
The best part of this recipe is that you can add or subtract ingredients for what you have on hand or to suit picky eaters tastes.
