  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1/2 c dark karo syrup
  • 1 T baking soda dissolved in 2 T milk
  • 1/2 t cardamom
  • 1/2 t allspice, or more
  • 5-6 c flour
DIRECTIONS
  1. Dissolve sugar butter and syrup in saucepan. Cool. Mix in dry ingredients, kneading flour as mixture gets stiffer. Form into rolls and refrigerate. Slice and bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until browned.
