Pie Iron Version of Fried Egg Sandwich

  • Butter or butter flavored spray
  • 1 egg
  • salt and pepper
  • Crumbled sausage, bacon, ham, etc.
  1. Butter or spray two pieces of bread.
  2. Place butter side down in pie iron.
  3. Crack whole egg onto bread and salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Meat sprinkled on top.
  5. Carefully place the second slice of bread on top and close pie iron.
  6. Cook over coals until desired doneness.
  7. I would recommend a minimum of 3 minutes on each side.
Cook up a take along breakfast, then hit the trail.
