Pie crust by Carnie
  • Cooking Time: Depends on type of pie
  • Servings: 9 in pie crust
  • Preparation Time: 1hr 50 minutes
  • 3 cups of all purpose flour
  • 11/2 teaspoons salt
  • Sweet spices:
  • Big pinch of cinnamon
  • Big pinch of cloves
  • Savory spices
  • Big pinch of thyme
  • Big punch of sage
  • 2 1/2 sticks of cold cubed butter
  • 1/3 cold butter crisco
  • 6-8 tablespoons of ice water
  1. Put first 5 ingredients andPulse 15 times in your food processor
  2. Add butter and crisco pulse 8-10 times until it likes like peas
  3. Add water 1 tablespoons at a time pulse than add water keep going until it forms a ball
  4. Divide and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out into a 9 inch circle
  6. Place in 9 inch pie pan
  7. Bake at desired temp
This is an easy recipe that ends up flakey and tender with nice layers. It can be used for seer or savory pot pies. I also have a recipe for a pot pie filling.
