Pintos Con Carne

  • 3 1/2 cups water
  • 1 cup dry pinto beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 15 ounce can tomatoe sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
DIRECTIONS
  1. Place the first 3 ingredients in a sauce pan.
  2. Bring to a boil
  3. Reduce heat to simmer covered for 1 1/2 hours
  4. Pour beans and cooking liquid into bowl
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight
  6. In a skillet brown ground beef
  7. drain and place in crock pot.
  8. Stir in beans and liquid
  9. add one can tomatoe sauce, onion, chili powder.
  10. Cover on low for 6-8 hours
  11. Stir before serving
