- 1 Package of yeast
- 1/2 Cup warm water
- 3 Cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 Teaspoon salt
- 1 Teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 Cup lukewarm water
DIRECTIONS
- In a glass, add warm water, sugar and yeast and allow to ferment 10 minutes. In a mixing bowl, combine flour with salt. Make a depression in the flour and add yeast water. Slowly add an additional Cup of water and stir to form dough. On a floured surface, knead for 10 minutes, and then place in a greased bowl and cover. Let rise 3 hours. On a floured surface, roll into a rope and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll into balls and flatten to 1/4 inches thickness. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F. Move rack to bottom position in the oven and preheat cookie sheet. Bake for 4 minutes until bread puffs. Flip and bake 2 minutes more. Remove and push down puff with a spatula.
