Popcorn Brittle

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 cups popped corn
  • NOTE: This recipe can also be used with puffed cereals.
DIRECTIONS
  1. Cook all ingredients (except butter, soda and popcorn to 272 degrees or until small amount of syrup cracks when tested in cold water.
  2. Add butter and soda
  3. Blend and stir in popped corn.
  4. Pour into buttered, shallow pan
  5. When cools completely break into pieces
