Potatoes au gratin
  • Cooking Time: 45-60 minutes
  • Servings: 4-6
  • Preparation Time: 10-15 minutes
  • 5-6 potatoes, peeled or not, your preference; and sliced in thin slices
  • freshly ground sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 c. sharp cheddar, shredded
  • 1 c. half and half
  1. Place half of peeled (or not), sliced potatoes in overlapping circles in a well greased baking dish. Salt and pepper to taste. Cover with half of cheese. Repeat layer. Heat cream in microwave on high for 2 minutes. Pour evenly over potatoes. Bake in an oven preheated to 375 F for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender and top is golden. Serve immediately.
I created this recipe for potatoes au gratin when my grandson, David was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. I will never make potatoes au gratin any other way, because they are divine.
