Pulled Turkey Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Tbls. vegetable oil
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 3 Cups turkey, cooked
  • 2 Tbls. packed dark brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 Cup ketchup
  • 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1 Tbls. cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp honey mustard
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 4 hamburger buns
DIRECTIONS
  1. Heat oil in Dutch oven or deep skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onion and celery; cook and stir 5 minutes. Stir in turkey, brown sugar,worcestershire sauce,
  3. ketchup, tomato sauce, cidervinegar, chili powder,mustard and salt.
  4. Cover and simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour or until turkey shreds when pulled with fork.
  5. Serve turkey in buns with cole slaw on the side, if desired.
  6. Tip: This dish freezes well.
  7. For convenience, double the
  8. recipe and freeze leftovers
  9. in individual portions.
  10. Thaw and reheat in microwave
  11. oven.
