Quick And Easy Syrup Bread
INGREDIENTS
- 300g Syrup (Lyle´s Golden)
- 350g sugar
- 700g Flour (sifted)
- 600ml Buttermilk
- 1 tsp cloves (powder)
- 2 tsp baking soda
- grated peel of an organic orange
DIRECTIONS
- Mix all ingredients and bake in a square cake pan at 180°C for 30-45min depending how big the baking pan is. My mom always put it in the oven baking pan, so the bread was big and rather flat.
- When cool, cut in 4 to 6 equal parts and then slice one at a time in nice bread slices when serving.
- Ideal to freeze some of it, wrapped tightly in freezer bags etc.
- Then just thaw on the table before serving for a few hours.
