RED LAMB CURRY (INDIAN STYLE)

  • Lamb 500 gm (medium size pieces)
  • Small size onion 4 (cut into 2 halves)
  • Onion 3 medium size (chopped)
  • Garlic paste 2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  • Tomato puree 1 cup
  • Curry powder 2 tsp
  • Few curry leaves
  • Mustard oil 5 tbsp
  • Mustard paste 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Fruit vinegar 2 tsp
DIRECTIONS

  2. Marinate lamb with salt, 1 tbsp garlic paste, 1 tsp vinegar and 2 tbsp oil for overnight
  3. Heat oil in a presser cooker, add curry leaves and onion halves and fry until onions are transparent
  4. Paste onions with vinegar and add into cooker
  5. Stir and fry for few minutes
  6. Add garlic paste, chili powder and curry powder
  7. Add little hot water and stir for 2 to 3 minutes
  8. Add lamb pieces and cook until oil starts to separate
  9. Add tomato puree and 2 cups hot water and mustard paste
  10. Close cooker, bring to full presser in high heat, after 1st whistle reduce heat and cook for 15 to 20 minutes
  11. Serve hot, garnish with curry leaves and green chilies
