Rocky Road Brownies

  • 1/2 pkg. (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
DIRECTIONS
  1. Heat 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips and the margarine over low heat until melted; cool.
  2. Heat oven to 370 degrees.
  3. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, vanilla, salt, eggs and chocolate mixture.
  4. Spread in ungreased square pan, 9x9x2 inches.
  5. Bake 15 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with marshmallows, nuts and remaining chocolate chips.
  7. Bake until marshmallows are golden brown and wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 15 to 20 minutes.
  8. Cool completely; cut into 2x1 inch bars. Makes 36 brownies.
