Ruffled Brownies
INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 40 to 45
  • 6 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 2 tsp. real vanilla
  • 3 bananas, pureed with 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup peanut butter flavored chips
  • 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 cup finely crushed plain ruffles chips (or for a change use rice crispies or finely chopped toasted pecans)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
  3. Melt chocolate squares over double boiler until melted.
  4. Combine butter, sugar and eggs; mix until well blended.
  5. Set aside.
  6. Add chocolate and mix well.
  7. Combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ginger; add to chocolate mixture, mixing well. Stir in vanilla.
  8. Spread into pan.
  9. Bake 20 minutes; remove from oven.
  10. Spread banana puree over brownies.
  11. Sprinkle peanut butter chips evenly over bananas. Pour condensed milk evenly over chips.
  12. Return to oven; bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
  13. Cool
  14. thoroughly.
  15. Melt chocolate chips and 2 Tbsp butter, mixing together well.
  16. Fold in crushed potato chips.
  17. Spread evenly over cooled bars.
  18. Chill 15 to 20 minutes.
  19. Cut into bars.
