SWEET AND SOUR RIBS (Serves 4)

  • Brown Sugar Sauce:
  • 2 cups firm packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 2 Tbs. soy sauce or to taste
  • 2 Tbs. Ketchup
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 lbs meaty pork spareribs cut into 2 or 3 rib sections
DIRECTIONS
  1. Brown Sugar Sauce: Mix brown sugar and flour in a saucepan. Add water.
  2. Stir. Add the next 6 ingredients. Heat and stir until boiling and
  3. thickened.
  4. Layer ribs in a crock pot, spooning sauce over each layer. Cover. Cook on Low for 10 hours or on High for 5 to 6 hours until ribs are very tender.
