Sicillian Casserole

  • 8oz. cream cheese, room temperature then cubed; 3/4c. milk; 3 to 4# cooked and drained hamburger; 1- green pepper,chopped; small onion, chopped; 3/4c. water; 1/3c. sour cream; 8oz. tomato sauce; small can tomato paste; 1c. parmeasan cheese; 2c. cooked macaroni pasta.
  1. Cook hamburger with the green pepper and onion. Drain. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce and 3/4c water and simmer 10 minutes, mixing well. Mean while, cook and drain macaroni. Next, place room temperature chunked cream cheese and 3/4c milk in a microwaveable bowl and microwave, then mix, one minute at a time, till smooth. In a lg. bowl add cream cheese mix and macaroni along with sour cream and 1/2c. parmeasan cheese, mix well. Add this to the hamburger mix. Place in a casserole dish and top with the other 1/2c of parmeasan cheese. Bake 350F for 30minutes. Serve with salad and garlic bread.
