Simple Cooked Marzipan
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 5 Cups ground almonds
  • Almond or vanilla flavoring to your own taste
  • 1 cup water
  • Food coloring (depending on what you are molding marzipan into)
  1. Dissolve sugar and water in saucepan
  2. Add nuts
  3. cook, stirring constantly until the mass will not adhere to sides of pan. Remove from heat and turn out onto a clean marble slab, enamel tabletop, or baking sheet. Knead until smooth, adding extract and coloring while mixture is still warm. Shape as desired
