  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt
  • Cayenne Or Ground Red Pepper To Taste
  1. *Place the olive oil in large pot and set over medium heat 2. Once heated, add the onion, carrot, celery, and salt and sauté until the onions are translucent
  2. *Add the lentils, tomatoes, broth, coriander, cumin, garlic salt, dusting of cayenne/ground red pepper; stir to combine
  3. *Increase the heat to high and bring just to a boil
  4. *Reduce the heat to low; cover and simmer until lentils are tender (about 30-40 minutes)
  5. Recipe Tips
  6. *Leave out the cayenne or ground red pepper for a non-spicy version...although it is far better with a dash of it in there, not to overwhelm, but to give better flavor and some kick
  7. *You can use a hand blender if you want to blend it and get to a bit different/smoother consistency
