Split Pea Soup

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 tbsp. butter
  • 2 med. onions, minced
  • 8 c. water
  • 2 c. dried split peas
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 lb. bacon, cut in half
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 med. carrots, diced
  • 1/4 tsp. rosemary
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
DIRECTIONS
  1. Put all ingredients into Crockpot. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Before serving remove bay leaf and cloves.
