St. Louis Bars- by Samantha Luedtke
INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 40-45 minutes
- Servings: 12
- Preparation Time: 15 minutes
- 1 Box Yellow Cake Mix,
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- For the filling: 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 cups powdered sugar (+ extra for dusting)
DIRECTIONS
- 1. Preheat oven to 325 Degrees and grease a 9x13x2 cake pan
- 2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, 1 egg and the melted butter until well combined (it should be a thick dough)
- 3. Using clean hands press the dough into the prepared pan with your fingers.
- 4. Using an electric mixer, blend cream cheese, 2 beaten eggs and powdered sugar until smooth.
- 5. Spread filling over first dough layer.
- 6. Bake at 325 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until edges are brown.
- 7. Cool cake on cooling rack. Dust with powdered sugar after cake has cooled completely.
