Steak and Rice with Little Carrots
INGREDIENTS

  • 2 boxes Rice-a-Roni beef flavor
  • 1 lb tenderized round steak, cut into bite-sized strips
  • 1/2 C flour
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 Tb oil
  • 4 tbs butter
  • water
DIRECTIONS
  1. Mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge beef strips in flour mixture, brown in hot oil in large pan. Remove beef from pan, set aside.
  2. Prepare Rice-a-Roni in pan according to package directions. Cook until slightly dry.
  3. Stir in steak strips, serve hot.
RECIPE BACKSTORY
This recipe is one that my mom made as a quick and easy meal when I was younger. I now make it for my boys, who absolutely love it. My youngest is the one who started calling it "Steak and Rice with Little Carrots".
