Super easy french toast
CATEGORIES
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Butter
  • 2 tbs Corn Syrup
  • Non-stick Spray (Pam)
  • 1 loaf French Bread (crunchy, good quality bread is preferrable) cut into 1.5 - 2" slices
  • 5 Eggs
  • 1.5 cups Milk
  • 1.5 tsp Vanilla
  • Dash of cinnamon (optional)
  • Dash of nutmeg (optional)
DIRECTIONS
  1. Melt the brown sugar, butter and corn syrup in a small pot on medium heat until thoroughly melted and well mixed. Do not let the syrup boil too much. Spray a 9 X 13 pyrex pan (or similar) with non-stick spray. Pour the melted syrup into the pan and distribute evenly. Place french bread pieces in the pan after the syrup has cooled a bit. In a bowl, mix the eggs, milk, optional spices, and vanilla completely and pour on top of the french bread. Be sure to soak each piece of bread as you pour the mixture. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350F for 30 - 45 minutes. For a crunchier french toast, broil the top quickly. To serve, cut around each piece and flip upside down on a plate so that the syrup is on top.
  2. Enjoy!
