Sweet and Sour Meatballs
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork, optional
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 (12-ounce) bottles chili sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 jar (10-ounce) grape jelly
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • hot cooked rice or noodles
  1. Combine bread crumbs, milk, chopped onion, ground beef and pork, egg, salt, and pepper. Shape into 1-inch balls.
  2. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, combine chili sauce, water, and grape jelly.
  3. Add meatballs and simmer gently for 1 hour.
  4. Just before serving, stir in sour cream.
  5. Serve sweet and sour meatballs over hot rice or noodles.
  6. Spread hot mixture over the chips; sprinkle grated cheddar cheese on top and put in the oven for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and browned.
  7. Nacho delight recipe serves.
Grape jelly is the secret ingredient in these recipes. Serve meatballs over rice or noodles.
