Sweet hot spicy jerky

  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp pepper
  • 1lb lean beef, sliced into thin (1/8 in) strips
  • 1/2c brown sugar
  • 2/3c soy sauce
  • 1/4c teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4c Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3c balsamic
  • 5tbsp liquid smoke
  • 1/2c pineapple juice
  • 1tsp red pepper flakes
  1. In a small bowl mix onion, garlic and pepper. Season meat lightly and reserve excess
  2. in a saucepan over medium heat, mic sugar, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic, liquid smoke, and pineapple juice. heat until all the brown sugar has dissolved. allow marinade to cool
  3. pour cooled marinade over seasoned meat and mix. seal meat and let marinate for at least 3 hours
  4. arrange beef strips on dehydrator rack and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. dry for 4 or until desired doneness
