Swirly Coffee Brownies

  • Cooking Time: 30 to 35
  • Coffee Filling:
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese -- Softened
  • 1/4 cup Margarine
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Instant Coffee
  • Brownie:
  • 1 1/3 cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Margarine
  • 1 cup Cocoa
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 cup Chopped Walnuts (optional)
DIRECTIONS
  1. FILLING: Beat all ingredients together with electric mixer until smooth. Set aside.
  2. BROWNIE: Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 13" x 9" cake pan.
  3. Combine flour, baking powder, & salt.
  4. Melt margarine in large saucepan.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in cocoa & sugar.
  7. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  8. Add dry ingredients & nuts, mixing until smooth. Spread half of batter evenly in greased pan. Spread cheese mixture over top.
  9. Drop spoonfuls of remaining chocolate batter over cheese.
  10. Swirl a knife through batters to marble.
  11. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  12. Cool slightly.
