TRES LECHE CAKE

  • FOR CAKE:
  • GGFG Yellow Cake mix or mix or your choice
  • 3 eggs
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • ½ c. butter, softened
  • 1t. vanilla
  • FOR TOPPING:
  • 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 oz. can evaporated milk
  • 1 c. heavy whipping cream
  • WHIPPED CREAM:
  • 1 c. heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • 1 t. vanilla
DIRECTIONS
  1. In a stand mixer beat eggs, milk, butter, and vanilla. Turn off mixer and stir in cake mix until moistened. Turn mixer back on and beat for a minute. Pour into a 9”x13” baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake 30-35 minutes until knife comes out with moist crumb. Cool for 15 minutes. Meanwhile in a bowl mix together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and heavy cream. Poke holes 1 “ apart over top of cake. Pour milk mixture over holes. Refrigerate overnight. Next day, beat cream until it begins to thicken, add sugar and vanilla and beat until stiff peaks form. Spread over top of cake. Lightly sprinkle top with cinnamon. May decorate with berries, if desired.
