Taco Salad
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 pkg Taco Seasoning (Taco Bell)
  • 1 Large Head of Lettuce - torn rinsed and drained
  • 1 lg can of Sliced Black Olives
  • 1 small jar of greeen olives (optional)
  • 1 Large Bag of Doritos or Fritos
  • 1 Bag of Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Large Bottle Catalina Dressing
  1. Shread lettuce, rinse, and drain
  2. Brown ground meat
  3. Add taco seasoning, followind directions on back of package. Cook mixture until thickened not watery. (I ususally add water a little at a time, until I get the consistancy I like).
  4. Let ground meat mixture cool completely.
  5. In large salad bowl, add lettuce, drained olives, toss.
  6. Add cooled ground meat, toss until all ingrediants are mixed well.
  7. Add slightly crused chips, and cheese, toss.
  8. Add salad dressing, toss, and serve immediately.
  9. *If I want this dish to last a couple of days, I mix lettuce, olives only. I save ground meat, chips, cheese, and dressing as to keep lettuce from getting soggy, that way can make individual servings next day.
This is a great dish for pot luck, My family loves it as a main dish
