- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tablespoons Cocoa
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup water
- 1teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- Frosting
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 3 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
DIRECTIONS
- Mix sugar,flour,cocoa and baking soda and set aside
- Bring water and 1 cup of butter to a boil, and then add to the dry mixture
- Add in vanilla, eggs and buttermilk
- Pour into a greased and floured jelly roll pan
- Bake at 400° F for 20 minutes
- Frosting
- Mix powdered sugar and cocoa and set aside
- mix vanilla, softened butter and milk
- Add cocoa mixture slowly to butter mix
- Let cake cool for before frosting....and enjoy
