Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake

INGREDIENTS
- 2 c sugar
- 2 c flour
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 c Crisco
- 4 T. cocoa
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 2 eggs, beaten slightly
- 1 t. soda
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1 t. vanilla
- Icing:
- 1 stick butter
- 4 T. cocoa
- 6 T. milk
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 t. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS
- Cake:
- Sift together in large bowl, sugar and flour. Put in saucepan, butter, Crisco, cocoa and water. Bring mixture to a boil and pour over flour and sugar mixture and stir well. Add buttermilk, eggs, soda, cinnamon and vanilla. Mix well. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes, watching carefully.
- Icing:
- Melt together and bring to boil, butter, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Spread over hot cake.
