Traditional Pi'kwun Salmon

  • 1 Whole Sockeye Salmon
DIRECTIONS
  1. Harvest 1 (3” thick x 5' long) Iron Wood pole for the main stick and split it down the centre
  2. Harvest 4 (1/2” thick x 12” long) Iron Wood sticks for spreading the salmon
  3. Debone the Salmon but leave the fish whole (this is the tricky part)
  4. Slide the spreader sticks through the salmon horizontally, ensure that one stick is placed under the salmon's collar bone.
  5. Slide the Salmon with the spreader sticks into the split main stick.
  6. Place main stick in the ground and lean salmon over a fire to cook for approximately 30­60 minutes. Serve and Enjoy!
