Turkey Chili
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey
- 1 large yellow onion, chopped
- 3 tablespoons cumin
- 4 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons crushed garlic
- 3 tablespoons good sherry (I used red wine because I didn't have sherry)
- 20 ounces of a combination of black and kidney beans (I used organic canned)
- 16 ounce jar of roasted red peppers
- 16 ounce can of tomato sauce
- 29 ounce can of whole tomatoes with basil
DIRECTIONS
- Put all in the slow cooker. If you want to keep the turkey fat lower, cook the ground turkey in a pan first. I like using as few pans as possible so I do it all at once. Cook on low for about 10 hours. Adjust to the elevation where you live.
