Turkey Picadillo

- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes
- 1 cup chopped cored Granny Smith apples
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons thinly sliced pimiento-stuffed olives
- Hot cooked yellow rice or white rice (optional)
- Toasted almonds (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Cook and stir turkey, onion, green pepper and garlic in large skillet over medium-high heat until turkey is no longer pink. Stir in sugar, cinnamon, cumin, cloves, tomatoes, apples, raisins and olives. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low. Cover ans simmer 15 to 20 minutes. Serve over rice and garnish with toasted almonds.
