Un-do Your Pants Button Caramel Chocolate Pie
  • 1 graham cracker crust
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 3 TB cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Topping:
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Mix sugar and cocoa together.
  3. Beat the eggs then add to the cocoa mixture.
  4. Beat in the milk, butter and vanilla.
  5. Pour mixture into 9 inch unbaked graham cracker shell and bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes or until set.
  6. Topping:
  7. In a saucepan, heat corn syrup, brown sugar and butter to boiling over low heat, stirring constantly.
  8. Boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Stir in whipping cream ; heat to boiling.
  10. Remove from heat and let cool for 30 minutes.
  11. Top pie with Caramel while both are still warm. Let sit in fridge for 2 hours, then slice, serve, and ENJOY!
The pie is a delicious twist on a classic chocolate chess pie. I thought of it one day after a craving for chocolate and carmel. I've been told I should call it a Twix pie! Easy to prepare, this dish is great for parties and bake sales. The best thing about this dish is all the sugar can be substituted with Splenda! Be careful though - it's hard to just eat one slice!
