VANILLA CUSTARD

- 1/4 c. cornstarch
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1/2 c. cold milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 1/2 c. milk microwaved for 2 1/2 minutes on high
- 2 T. butter
- 1 t. vanilla
DIRECTIONS
- Mix cornstarch and sugar together in saucepan. Add salt, egg yolks, and cold milk. Stir well. Turn heat to medium high and pour hot milk in saucepan. Cook until thickened and bubbly. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla, stir. Cool until just warm before putting in serving cups or pre baked pie crust.
