VIDALIA ONION PATTIES
INGREDIENTS
- 3?4 cup flour
- 1-tablespoon sugar
- 1-tablespoon corn meal
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1-teaspoon salt
- 2/3-cup milk
- 2-1?2 cups finely chopped Vidalia onions
DIRECTIONS
- Mix dry ingredients together, and then add milk. Batter should be fairly thick.
- Add onions.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil.
- Flatten and brown on both sides.
- Tastes just like fried onion rings and makes a great side dish with grilled steak.
