White Bread (1 1/2 lbs) plus 2 hamburgers buns using Grandmas GF Bread Mix 1 1/2 lbs.
  • Cooking Time: 35 minutes to bake loaf of bread, 25 minutes to bake hamburger buns, and 20 minutes to bake slider buns.
  • Servings: Bread Mix make 2 lb. loaf of white sandwich bread, 16-20 slices or 1 1/2 lb. loaf of bread plus either 2 hamburger buns or 6 slider buns.
  • Preparation Time: 1 hour and 10-15 minutes including 1 hour raise time.
  • 1 1/2 c. milk or water
  • 1/4 c. olive oil (or oil of choice)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 package Grandmas GF Bread Mix
  1. Heat milk in microwave oven on high for 2 minutes. Meanwhile in stand mixer bowl or bowl using hand mixer, add heated milk and oil, beat on low speed. Add eggs, beat on low speed. Turn off mixer and stir in by hand Grandmas GF Bread Mix until moistened, then turn mixer on and beat 1 minute on medium speed. Heavily grease the sides of your pans of choice and line the bottoms with parchment paper or wax paper (you can also use cupcake papers for the sliders if desired). To make hamburger buns, put a scant 1/4 c. of batter into each of two 4" prepared ramekins; to make slider buns, put 1 T. of batter into each of a 6 cup prepared muffin pan; put the remaining batter into a standard prepared loaf pan. Bake in an oven preheated to 375 F for 20 minutes for sliders, 25 minutes for hamburger buns, and 35 minutes for loaf of bread. Cool in pans for 5 minutes then turn out on wire rack to cool completely before slicing. Since this bread has no preservatives, keep out only what you will eat in a day or so, freeze the remainder to use as needed. Never throw away any GF bread. If you don't like the ends, put them along with any broken pieces, scraps, etc in a plastic freezer bag and freeze. When you bag is full make breadcrumbs or croutons. Bread freezes well.
My grandson, David loves this bread! When he comes home from school on bread making day, he wants a slice of it warm from the oven for his snack. We often have it for breakfast toast, and since David has to take his lunch to school we frequently use it to make him a sandwich. Our family really likes the millet and rice flavor of the bread.
