RECIPE BACKSTORY
Winter drinking isn’t just for hot toddies, eggnog and mulled wine. On those slightly sunny but crisp winter days, a cold sangria can really hit the spot and help break the winter beverage monotony. Popular sangria fruits like apples and citrus are at their best in winter, so this drink is as seasonal as it gets. I chose green apples and blood oranges, because who can resist that red and green color combo, even after Christmas? The pomegranate juice adds more seasonal sweetness, and the cranberries make a fun garnish.
