buckey horns
INGREDIENTS
- Cooking Time: 12-15
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 t. salt
- 1 cake yeast or 1 pkg dry (check expiration date)
- 4 1/2 c. flour
- 3 eggs, beaten
DIRECTIONS
- Combine: milk, chortening, sugar and salt.
- Cool to lukewarm.
- Add yeast stir until dissolved.
- Add eggs, then flour.
- Mix to a smooth soft dough.
- Knead lightly and place in greased bowl.
- Let rise until doubled in bulk.
- Divide into 3rds and roll into a 9 inch circle, brush with melted butter and cut into 8-10 wedges. roll into crescent shape. brush outside with melted butter, let rise:
- Bake 12-15minutes
- At 400ยบ degrees.
