chana masala
INGREDIENTS

  • Servings: 4, i usually make 2x

  • 1 large onion, chopped medium
  • 1 6oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 15oz cans garbeanzo bons (chick peas)
  • 1/3c evoo
  • lots of garlic (seriously as much as you can stand)
  • 1T chana masala (it's a spice blend available at most spice shops)
  • 1/2t turmeric
  • 1/3c water
DIRECTIONS
  1. heat oil over med flame
  2. add garlic, onions, saute until transparent
  3. add salt, turmeric, stir
  4. add tomato sauce, lower heat, cover, simmer a few minutes
  5. add the rest of the spices, cover until the oil rises (~10min)
  6. add chick peas, water, stir, cover, simmer ~30mins
  7. can be made 2-3 days in advance. some might say it's better the second day
