homemade green tea yogurt
CATEGORIES
INGREDIENTS
  • Cooking Time: 700
  • Servings: varies
  • Preparation Time: 15
  • 1 quart organic whole milk
  • 2 T green tea (matcha) powder
  • 5 T honey
  • 1 package freeze dried yogurt culture
DIRECTIONS
  1. Heat milk, and as it heats, take a small amount out to mix with green tea powder and honey, then add back into milk.
  2. Milk needs to be heated up to 190 degrees.
  3. Let milk cool to between 100 to 90 degrees - I just let it sit on the counter for a few hours, covered.
  4. During that time, take small amount of milk and mix with dried yogurt culture and set aside.
  5. When milk is cool enough, put in mason quart jar, cover, and put in yogurt maker.
  6. I let mine set for 12 hours, as I like a thicker yogurt, but you can let it "cook" less for a less thick yogurt
RECIPE BACKSTORY
I love green tea, and I love yogurt - have always wanted to see if I could make it on my own and have found that it is really easy and knowing what is in it I can feel good about eating a little more :)
