  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2/3 c butter
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1t vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 1t salt
  • 1/2 t baking powder
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • meringue
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/2 t vanilla
  • 1 c mini semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c crushed peppermint candies
DIRECTIONS
  1. mix egg yolks, butter, milk, vanilla, and sugar
  2. add flour, salt, and baking powder
  3. roll into log and chill in fridge while making meringue
  4. prepare meringue by beating egg whites in small bowl with salt to form soft mounds
  5. gradually add sugar, continuing beating until soft peaks form
  6. fold in vanilla, chocolate chips, and peppermint candies
  7. take dough out of fridge and take teaspoon sized balls
  8. place on greased cookie sheet and flatten each ball with glass dipped in sugar
  9. top each cookie with a teaspoon of meringue
  10. bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes
