~^Angel's^~ Turkeyloaf

  • 1 lb Ground Turkey
  • 1/2c Green Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1/2c Yellow Onion, chopped
  • 1/2 (14.5oz) can Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 1/2-2 pkgs Crackers, crumbled
  • 1 Egg, beaten slightly
  • 1/2 pkg Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1 tsp Steak Seasoning (I use Montreal/Canadian)
  • 1 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Oregano, dry
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • *a splash of Milk- for wetness
  • *Ketsup- for topping
  1. 1) Preheat oven at 350°F.
  2. 2) In a large metal bowl, add ground meat, bell pepper, onion, and tomatoes. Using a fork (or clean hands) mix together. Add egg and all seasonings; mix again until well combined.
  3. 3) Add crumbled crackers, half package at a time, folding into meat in between, until meat mixture is firm but still wet and sticky. (You will be able to ball it up and easily press it into the pan.) *If mixture appears to dry, work in a splash of milk until consistency is smooth.
  4. 4) Press evenly into an 8"x6"x2" glass bake pan.
  5. 5) Bake for 30 minutes, or until center is cooked. (Meat will usually separate from the side of the dish, and you will see the contents boiling up the sides.) Remove from oven and drizzle a thin layer of ketchup over the top- spread evenly if desired. Bake an additional 5 minutes.
I have had many people tell me over the years how much they disliked Meatloaf. Yet every one I have convinced to try out my recipe has told me it was delicious and juicy! You will never believe how much ground turkey can taste like a true Beef Meatloaf quite like this one!
